Reflection:
The artifact that was used for this reflection was my action evaluation plan that was created in ITEC 7410. This action plan detailed five different goals that could be completed over the course of the school year and the impact the teachers and students to improve project based learning and use of the Chromebooks in the classroom. While this was a class assignment, it was completed individually and used information from previous interview and being able to collaborate with other teachers in my school. I do feel that this activity was able to provide a basis for the idea behind the”Googly Girls”, the PD training duo (Myself and the media specialist at DMS).
The artifact shares how I have researched five different topics and the recommendations for timelines, funding, and outcomes. The shared vision of being able to implement the 1:! Chromebooks in the classroom to provide and encourage student engagement means that students will become more of the teachers in the classroom. This allows the teachers to become facilitators of the learning in the classroom. This does represent the vision of the federal technology plan to increase student understanding and work production on the Chromebooks. The use of the success indicators will share with the takeovers that the recommended policies and procedures will be a positive impact of climate change for students and faculty.
Completing this artifact helped define my purpose on how to improve student/teacher performance with the Chromebook. This artifact was able to help reduce the main ideas I had to implement and help me focus on completing a few main goals to get the most impact in the classroom for everyone including the stakeholders. The main thing I would have to do to improve the quality of the artifact would be to focus on creating a technology team in the school rather than taking on all the plans myself. Having a technology team would help with defining the purpose and simply the process with completing PD for other teachers.
When creating this artifact for this assignment, the impact that was a surprise for me was for faculty development. When creating and identifying goals for technology, it was clear on how the buy-in from other teachers would be necessary to complete and understand the program/professional development. The impact will be assessed by seeing the student engagement and growth in the upcoming school year via observations and data review.
