This class was a fantastic trip through a lot of information in such a short period of time. My district is currently starting to use and engage in technology in the classroom, therefore several of the projects required me to do some major research and understanding of how things work at the district level.
The use of the RSS project was very helpful because it has created different opportunity for myself to interact with others in the tech world. I have decided to work on my Google certification and possibly become an innovator (big goal). It is really cool to see how others use Flipgrid and more to work technology into their everyday classroom life.
The ISTE standards are something that need to be considered when districts are starting to create their technology plans and I hope to encourage my central office of the importance of these standards for students and teachers. The different projects for this class included creating a shared vision, SWOT analysis, and an action/evaluation plan. This class was a great opportunity to be able to collaborate with others in the classroom based on learning and seeing what other districts are doing in regards to their classroom and technology.
The hardest part of this class was creating the information after researching because there is not a lot of information for my district. I am hoping that I will be able to use the information that was created with my district official and create an edamp this upcoming summer. The evaluation plan is something that entails all the different things that we need to do to incorporate the use of technology to be able to help our students become digital citizens.
The assignment of creating a grant was an excellent opportunity to create something that I actually plan on using for my Google Chrome Squad. It was a very helpful way to break down a document for explanation for something that can be very daunting to a teacher.
This class was an awesome opportunity to hone my leadership skills and created awareness in myself for my district. It was an awesome class!!
