BYOD is a very fun ways to let the students know that they are able to bring their own devices and use them in the classroom. I am in a middle school and we do not have a BYOD policy in my school. I have been in a classroom where the teachers has allowed the students to use the phone for research purpose but it has only been a very small amounts of time.
BYOD is something that needs to be plan and carefully pursued in the classroom because it can help or hinder the digital learning experience for the students. One way I would like for it to be used in my classroom is to ensure that the actual technology standards will be meet based on wifi bandwidth and software that could be compatible will all of the students’ phones or devices (BYOD, 2018).Managing the BYOD is very similar to being able to manage the Chromebooks in the classroom. There are several different things that I would like to incorporate in the classroom. The BYOD needs to be able to enhance the learning experiences for the students in the classroom, not be a constant source of frustration for both the teachers and the students.
Our current technology in the classroom is using Chromebooks. TO fix any of the issues, I have been using Google and the Chrome Store to be able to help identify and fix things. I am also guilty if asking our media specialist to help me.
The video below is a great tool for some suggestions from our module on how to handle BYOD.
